george bush : gameover

Today is the last day that our country will be presided over by George W. Bush. Bush leaving office has been a long time coming. I would say at least 5 years overdue if not longer. Game Over Bush.

Next Boss: Barack Obama

Yeehaw, looky 'ere paw, Imma shoot me a black.

Gun sales are way up after the election of Barack Obama. -CNN News Story

Rednecks everywhere are worried that a Democrat heavy Congress will restrict gun ownership/purchasing laws. As if a Democratic Democracy will totally reverse our government. As if we need automatic weapons in every home.

If you live in a small town and you like to hunt that is great. Have you ever heard of a big city? There are millions of people all living very close together in a big city. Guns do not serve much purpose in that type of environment, unless you are fighting for your gang turf.

Hopefully with this surge in gun sales, more morons will shoot themselves.

Here is my prediction for the 2008 Presidential Election between Barack Obama (Blue) and John McCain (Red):

… is who ever you supported prior to the debate. I dont think McCain gathered any new voters with his offensive tactics. Yes he may have put Obama on the spot, but it seems like McCain just gave Obama more attention. At times it almost seemed like McCain was interviewing Obama.

It also appeared to me that McCain was a bit more emotional and stumbled over his own words a bit more. Could this mean that he is just reciting talking points planned out in advance? I am sure they both are. But Obama seems to be more passionate about what he says. He is definitely more eloquent when he speaks.

“Nuclear Power Pants” anyone?

I also think the moderator won this debate hands down. He had some very poignant questions. He stuck to the alloted time limits. He did not allow very much interrupting, though it seems to me that McCain interrupted Obama several times. In Obama’s favor, he looked cool, calm and collected when he was interrupted or when McCain said something he disapproved of.

Obama’s demeanor is what I would consider very diplomatic for our country. McCain on the other hand has no poker face. He seems to react emotionally and his face tells the story even before he speaks.

So for me, the debate results are as follows:

  1. Barack Obama
  2. Bob Schieffer
  3. Joe Plumber
  4. John McCain

After watching the acceptance speech of Barack Obama, I still feel strongly about giving him my vote. I agreed with his entire speech, but then again, I don’t think he would touch on too many topics that the majority would not agree with.

I do plan on watching the Republican Convention and listening with an open mind. I feel that it is important to hear both sides of such a major decision.

Any comments?
