Backsplash I did it

No prior experience installing anything tile related. I really wanted to see how hard it really was. I read how to do it online, and watched lots of home improvement shows and figured it wouldn’t be too difficult. I scored the wall so the adhesive would stick better. Then I started applying the adhesive with the trowel.

I thought I was supposed to apply some to both the wall and then the back of the tile. This was a mistake. The adhesive went thru the mesh of the tile and got all over the place. Then when I put it up on the wall the tile was buried in the adhesive.

This wasnt going to work. I pulled it off and rinsed off all the adhesive and laid tile outside to dry. (I ended up not needing that piece anyways).

Once I got the hang of how to put the adhesive on the wall, and troweling it to the right depth, it went pretty quick. I have to wait 24 hours to put the grout on.

Its some sort of adhesive made specifically for tile. After the adhesive dries for 24 hours then grout is applied. The grout keeps the tile in place and the water out.
