biblicone vs. neologism

I found a word today - one that no one throughout my life has informed me of up to this point. The word is Neologism. The definition: a newly coined word or phrase.

Did I unwittingly invent a word (biblicone: a word in need of a definition) that is the prequel to a word invented by the French in the 19th century? Does the word neologism negate the word biblicone? Are these two words long lost cousins finding themselves conjured up by this website? Am I making everything up?

*On a side note - I found another interesting (fairly new) word: Contronym.
The word contronym (also the synonym antagonym) is used to refer to words that, by some freak of language evolution, are their own antonyms. See example.

Google street level maps: Philly

I was walking down the street today near my house and saw a car that may have been taking street level photos. It was an older car with a white pole sticking out of the roof. The top of the pole was painted red with several lenses all the way around it.

I am not saying it was the Google Maps street level car, but who knows… maybe I will be one of the people in one of the photos.

Chitown vs Philly

I just recently got back from a weekend in the midwest. We drove to Chicago on Thursday. Went to Madison to see Bret on Friday. Went to a party west of Joliet IL and a concert in Chicago on Saturday.

We saw Chromeo and Flosstradamus at the Empty Bottle. The show was nothing compared to the weekend prior we saw the same show here in Philly at the Theater of the Living Arts. The sound was so much better at the TLA. The DJ set that Flosstradamus played in Philly was a nice Chicago house set. The set they played in Chicago was an annoying early 90’s mix of all the crappiest songs of that time… and the crowd loved it for some reason. Its probably because the new thing in Chicago seems to be trying to wear the crappiest of early to mid 80’s outfits - the ones that were probably made fun of even back then - crap.

Chromeo was good both places. The sound at the Empty Bottle made the ‘casio tone’ vibe sound very muffled. The set seemed to be cut short in Chicago, but thats ok, they still allow smoking inside that bar so I would have rather left anyways. My eyes and lungs thanked me when I left.

-K is staying in Chicago now for 4 days longer than planned, so I am all alone. Boo.
