This weekend we spent a lot of hours painting different rooms upstairs. The guest bedroom is a rich warm green. Our bedroom is a rich redish/orange. Both rooms still need a 2nd coat. We also have a purple for the office room. Today I built a platform for our washer and dryer. The floor was very uneven (like 3″ variation in the level) since it is an unfinished basement. I used 2 pallets, cut one in half, and put a piece of 3/4 plywood over the top. I had to use all the pieces of the unused half pallet and stack them under the corners to level out the platform. I think it works pretty well and keeps the washer and dryer off the uneven floor.
While I was watching the Rugby last weekend, my wife and I got into a conversation about life and death, and the need for living wills. During the course of the conversation I told her that I never wanted
to exist in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and taking fluids from a bottle. She got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all my beer. Sometimes it’s tough being married to a smartass.
We are almost at closing for the house. We even got the seller to come down in price! Just a few more pieces of paper to sign and then some money to pay to all the plethora of collectors. And Friday night we can start painting or moving some stuff in. Wish us luck.
