I take an active interest in what the States chooses not to report (for it reports alot of crap you don’t need to know…excluding that which you might like to hear, and thats not me being biased, just a view built up over years of searching the same stories elsewhere), and I also like the opinions formed in ones own country. That includes hopping into foreign newsites, but obviously, an english written version does not always exist and so I spend time listening to the radio, mostly between 4-6 pm UK time (tune into BBC Radio 4 for PM with Eddie Mair or listen later by going to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/news/pm/ ) and from it I get a satisfying meal of what is going on around this crazy planet of ours. So…I was wondering where you get your news from and I can promise you that I will spend time reading and/or listening. I ask because I am interested and have never asked before. Indulge me.

I check out bbc.co.uk on a daily basis. I usually just skim the headlines though. I’m not very current on any dealings around our lovely little planet. It was here, thanks to you UT, that I learned about Pluto. Tee hee. We don’t get any channels on the tv, so I am living in my own little world the majority of the time. I also frequent the babycenter.com message boards, and learn quite a bit of the nonsense “news” from the people on there. For instance, today I learned that Tom Cruise was fired from Paramount. Whoopdee doo. I also enjoy coasttocoastam.com, for the random/weird/interesting news that regular type news stations don’t talk about. I am just an ignorant American, and I don’t care about what’s going on anywhere beyond my front porch. (tee hee)
I have added coasttocast as a fav. Ill give that a trawl. I didnt stay at the babybabble for long, but have a look at http://www.pbs.org/newshour/ . Its quite easy to navigate and worth a squirt.
In the car the radio is on NPR for news. There site is npr.org, but I haven’t really looked around it much. Might be interesting.
