So I recently started a new project - one that does not bring money in… its a black 1988 Jeep Wrangler with 6″ of lift on 35″ tires and a hard top. I hope it wasnt a mistake… right now it sort of feels like one since it wont start. The mechanic I had it inspected by said that I should think about replacing the starter. I have one in the mail now.

It has ran, I even drove it 50 miles from Jersey where I bought it from. Ive driven it a few times never knowing if it will start reliably. Just the other day it finally didnt start. It sounds like the starter is trying to kick it in, but the engine never starts up. I am not very mechanically inclined, but I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and take things apart.

It currently has no radio, but my goal is to get it running reliably first. Its got the looks, now it just needs the engine work. Then I can move onto the sound department. There are so many parts made for Jeeps. The only down side is where do you draw the line about how much money you can put into a project like this… Wish me luck.

I put in a new starter… only to find that it still does not start.

Hey Mob! sorry the starter didn’t fix the problem, could be spark plugs or the distributor cap…. sometimes just jiggling the wires will bring it back to life…. Hope you are doing well. That is a very nice looking Jeep :)

Tonight I am going to put in a new ignition coil, new distributor cap and rotor. Maybe those will help my starting issues… I hope so. Updates soon.
