Why dont we have wireless cable yet? We do have wireless cable internet… and all the tv channels are digital now (via digital cable) so why not wireless cable boxes for the home? Maybe we could start it off with a coax cable attached to a small wireless receiver (to be hidden behind the tv) and then you could put your wireless cable box somewhere else.
This would be great for all the new flat tvs especially when mounted on the wall.
Eventually all televisions could come with the wireless adapter (once a frequency is agreed upon) built in (as well as the coax and component connections). With the dropping prices of wireless routers and modems, why wouldnt the television be on this same path?
Maybe we put a radius limit on the wireless cable box to prevent people from sitting in their house next door enjoying your broadcast of wireless porn channels? Maybe we could have home insulation also shield your house from emitting such information from your wireless modem or cable box.
Of course, I am not an engineer so my idea may be thwarted by the current amount of information making up a full screen television program and how much info can be sent wirelessly via current technology. And of course the real reason this doesnt happen yet… they havnt figured out how to make the most amount of money off of it.
