..that Mob is back? I thought I could chew for Britain… but Mob you are the best. And what’s even better I agree with you entirely (most of the time) and couldnt have put it better myself. I am impressed with the Koran Desecration article.. my take on the whole Moslem thing is that they really believe this stuff.. and they’re willing to die for it too.. how many Christians can say that? Just now in my own faith Im pondering along the lines of.. how nice can Christ actually be.. he’s so nice He’d die for you. In the world’s eyes being kind on such a great level comes over as weak. Like a doormat even.. lucky for us He didnt stay dead..

On an entirely different subject I’d personally like to kiss anyone who voted “Non” in France and will do the same for any Dutch person who votes “no” tomorrow. Id love to have the EEC yes; monster superstate of beaurocrats… no way..

I have to agree with Trumps idea for new World Trade Center buildings. Basiclly he offers to fund the building of new Trade Towers that are over 100 feet taller than the previous ones, along with larger stairwells and a stronger overall design. I agree with his statement saying “If we rebuild the World Trade Center in the form of a skeleton … the terrorists win” in reference to the Freedom Tower planned on being built and completed by 2008 but has since been put on hold due to security reasons.

I think that if they build a memorial to the towers in its place, its as if we never got over the tragedy. I say, build the towers bigger and stronger to show that we are not going to let that loss stop the US or the world. Let the buildings rise again.

I guess Newsweek ran a story saying that a copy of the Koran had been flushed down a toilet at Guantanamo Bay by some US interrogators. After some Muslims/Afganis read this they proceeded to riot, kill and spew even more anti-US garbage. At least 15 have been killed and hundreds more injured in protests of this action.

I say WHO CARES about the feelings or opinions of anyone who reacts this way to the words in a weekly publication. I will personally defecate on and flush every Koran (Quran) down the toilet in protest to this ignorance and pure hatred for life. I am sorry that these people are so full of hatred in the name of their religion. It doesnt sound like a very healthy way to live life. Killing people just because you read that a symbol of your religion was flushed in a toilet.

Why are we (the US) tiptoeing around that nation trying to keep their feelings, freedoms and religion in tact? If we are at war with them then they dont have these rights in my opinion… they had these rights, but they obviously cant handle anything. How many Americans are they going to behead, or how many US flags are they going to burn over one holy book being flushed? I dont see how one inanimate object (the Koran) can equal deaths of any human and a hatred for an entire nation.

I dont think Newsweek should retract or apologize for this. I dont think Bush should apologize for this either. I think we should blast them.

That is my rant, and I am sorry if it isnt positive or peaceful, but I think we have tried that route with this area of the world, only to find failure.

Additionally, the al-Qaida put out a statement claiming that the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s recent visit to Iraq has desecrated their land. Good. Lets send her back… desecrate their land. Better yet, bomb the hell out of their land. I try to understand their point of view, but they never cease to amaze me in their ignorance and lack of any logic. They only want to fight. They even say : “You should know that our (the Sunni) way is fighting you.”

How can we debate with them or try to talk sense into them if this is their way of life? Only one way: violence. They say : “You will not get away with insulting God’s book.”… I say “You will not live much longer, so you better start reading your book a little bit closer.”

What kind of religion puts its own symbols above another human life? I dont think its the religion, I think it is a mass of very insane people trying to use a religion to explain their insanity. There is no cure for them I am sorry.

Ok, end of my angry and bitter rant.

Well, yes over the past weekend I served my time in the National Gaurd aka: Nasty Girl, aka: Weekend Warrior. It was basically 2.5 days worth or sitting around cleaning weapons and organizing Army gear (TA-50). We had to spend the night on Friday night, and we were not even given a cot or sleeping materials. Luckily, I have been through worse for longer periods of time. I found a small mat that padded me from the concrete and slept on that.

We threw away probably 50 full uniforms worth of different clothes… luckily someone was smart and took them all to a surplus store and made some cash off of the stuff. Good idea. I didnt feel like spending any time doing that to make a few bucks. Probably like $.50 per shirt or pants. Maybe I am lazy, or the money wasnt worth the time. My time is important to me hehe.

Next duty weekend is in June, and luckily its only a 2 day including a family day on Sunday. Who is interested? July will be the 2 week annual training.
———-

In other news, I got my new fixed gear bike in the mail on Thursday. I rode it a few times over the weekend (when I wasnt with the Gaurd) to learn how to stop/ skid/ pedal/ etc. Then today (Monday) I decided that I was going to do the commute. From La Grange to Chicago its about a 17 or more mile commute. A third of the time its in weird sketchy shady ghettos all along the west side of Chicago. I made it to work in under an hour and a half. I didnt have a set route, so I pretty much went where the lights and traffic was flowing most. If you get lost, just look into the distance for the Sears Tower.

I still have to ride home. I am not worried. -K is worried about the trip only because of how shady the west side is. I wouldnt want to be in any of those neighborhoods any time after dusk. I swear at one point I rode past a drug deal at 8:30 in the morning… weird. The ride home tonight I am going to try to ride Ogden road the whole way. Its pretty much a straight shot from downtown to my house.

I let my friend Mark ride the bike today on a short break. He really didnt like not being able to coast or backpedal. The stopping thing would be freaky for him if he had to really ride that way. And then the worst fear of people riding others bikes happend… the tire went flat. oops. Luckily it was discovered right away and fixed on the spot at the nearby Bicycle Station at Millenium Park. $5 for the tube, $10 for labor (its Chicago, what do you expect ha?!)

Thats all for now.

Well. I moved in this past Sunday. Had some help from the family. Thanks.

Now I have the daunting task of organizing and unpacking. Maybe I have way too much stuff? Will I use it all? Eventually? Maybe I just need more places to store it all. How does one slim down the amount of things they own when everything serves a purpose or is usable? Hmm. I guess its time to go to the store and buy a whole bunch of stuff to help me forget about all the stuff I already have?

I will soon be entering into the fixed gear bike community. I bought an IRO Cycles Mark V bike. i expect to see it next week (the same weekend that the National Gaurd has claimed as their time).

[bom] bom bought a police cruiser/gas guzzler/people freaker outer when he pulls up behind them…
