Hummm, Mob.
It is very difficult to tell you different, but save a few of the things you have told me before (ammo related ;-), Im sure there are elements there that you yourself havent realised as positive characteristics you or others have learnt to take on board. I remember telling you that the majority of changes are only noticed by others, and not you personally. Anyway……..
Bullshit reins supreme in a peace time army. I much prefer to be doing my job in the enviroment to which Im trained, and when Im back home I quietly miss the challeneges I encountered abroad. Those are my fondest memories of the Service, and also some of the most personal. The truth is, you can only learn so much before you have a chance to put it into practice. From there you gain experiance, which is the richer education. I dont think you have the primo of assignments to be honest. You have also had a very fast promotion track and that also serves to cause disillusionment becuase you question your own ability when unproven. Experiance, Good assigments, time served. Key elements in rounding off a good soldier.
Unless…you are a suicide bomber and you will never know whether you fucked up or not.:-s They arent soldiers regardless of whatever they say. They are what we call in the UK – ‘Wankers’
