Well, last tuesday, I went to the promotion board to become an e-5 sergeant. I didnt study much, maybe like 3 days worth of actual studying. I had a feeling that the key to the board was the level of confidence exhuded during the board interview question asking part (which is what the board is). The board consisted of one sergeant major and three first sergeants…. thats quite of bit of rank to be talking to all at the same time.
They asked me quite a few questions from many different topics, including leadership, maintenance, NBC, customs, unit history… I felt like I only answered like half of the questions, and the half that I answered only had a half answer. But I guess the board does not look for just the right answers.
So by december, I should see myself being promoted. Giving me at most, 93 days to enjoy it. From today on I have 145 days left in my active duty contract. The future is still unknown for me. But good things will and are happening.
