well, lets see. the past week sucked. but the weekend before now was so worth my time. the past week ive been sleeping on a Bradley fighting vehicle in the cold with ankle deep mud outside the back door, and a few inches of mud on the floor… then shooting plywood targets at over a kilometer away with violent accuracy… then more sitting around for another day or two…
whatever… its over. oh ya, about my 4 day weekend back in chicago. I went home to see -k. it was really good. i was so relaxed and welcomed there. i completely forgot all about the army for 4 days. we chilled out and just lounged around most of the time. thursday, she picked me up from the airport, we went to jewel to buy some oreos and dr. pepper… imagine that, i have the taste buds of an infant. then proceeded to watch nonsense TV for the night and talked.
friday, we went to my moms. played on some drums, went out to lunch and dinner… lunch was guess what : pizza. giordanos deep dish. wee. then dinner was a diner restaurant thing. the whole fam had a good time. everyone likes -k a lot. (they claim she is shy, but what do you expect… heeh)
saturday, was another chill afternoon. went out to eat once again, i got a burger. not very experimental with that meal. then over to andys house and hung with him and chip. that evening we went out to eat, yes again, to 7 on heaven. then walked over to the house of blues to see Cannibal Corpse. that was like my 6th or 7th time seeing them there. wee. it was good and loud. -k didnt seem to hate it that much… rather enjoyed the new experience (so she says hehe). next show will be king diamond… ha. off to andys after the show, and everyone had an enjoyable time watching spinal tap.
sunday, the last day of my weekend, and the time i had to go back to TX… mm gay. took some planes, got held over in houston cuz of the weather… slept on a hard bench in an airport. mm gay. then eventually got back to post monday afternoon, only to head out to the field an hour later… wee.
all in all, i got trampled and molested by some dogs, a cat, and mm -k :)
it was so good to have time off, and i am glad i spent it with who i spent it with.
I know you are all holding your breath while sitting in front of your computer for the next post about Colin. Well, here it is. Feel free to breathe now. He has been saying “mama” for about a month and a half now. Two days ago he said “dada” for the first time. It was more like “laaaaamaaabaaaooooDADA” Of course Mark was not here to hear it. He was working, as usual. I have decided that work sucks. But thank you to the employers of Mark, for if it were not for you, we would not be able to afford to live in this spider infested, leaking-water-moldy walled, shower that doesn’t drain, racoons living in the roof, and 1″ gap around the entire side door, wonderful house we live in. Not sure if that made perfect sense, but I’m sure it made NONSENSE. However, we are fully able to afford the cable we have been getting for FREE for the past three months. Ha ha ha to the dumb cable company who put holes in our wall while hammering in the cable line around the door frame.
Anyway, the world is anxiously waiting for a post from MOB regarding his trip to Chicago last weekend. Tell us, oh wise one.
Happy happy, joy joy. The message board that gives me hours of pleasure every day, that consists of other mothers and their 8 month old babies, has been LOCKED and is now READ ONLY. Why, you ask? (as if you care) Because, apparently, mothers’ of 8 month olds do NOT know how to play nice with each other. Name-calling, mud-slinging, the altering of other peoples childrens pictures, writing on the bathroom wall with permanent marker “Your mom is a slut”, and other such nonsense has gotten us to this point. Sounds extremely familiar to the spectacle our great country goes through every 4 years as we elect our new leader… hmmm, interesting observation. So how is it that our country doesn’t get a “time-out” in the corner? “(delivered in a sobbing, chest-heaving voice) All I wanted to do was talk about how CUTE and SMART and ADVANCED and BEAUTIFUL my child is!” By the way, he’s reading at the 10th grade level already. And he’ll be running for president in the 2008 election. Vote early, and vote often.
