Sept. 11th:
Mob has been moved to an undisclosed location and will stay there through Sept. 11, reflecting heightened security measures for the first anniversary of the attacks on America, officials said on Tuesday.

The move came as biblicone.com announced it had raised its nationwide threat level, citing information from an al Qaeda source indicating that American targets are at high risk of terrorist attack. Mob would be next in line for the presidency in the event President Bush is killed.

It was the second time in as many days that Mob was moved to a secret location, and officials said that he was not scheduled to appear at any public events on Wednesday as the nation marks the Sept. 11 anniversary.

Maybe we are coming at this Sept 11th anniversary all wrong. I admit to thinking about it more as the day gets closer but I am now feeling that the whole day will be “driven” by the wrong emotions; that we will find it hard not to allow the media to lead the way. In fact, the media is responsible for a lot of the bad memories we have. Not that I think we have to put our heads in the sand, just not allow ourselves to be drawn along in the hunt for the highest ratings… I am getting sick and tired of hellish images being paraded before my face so much that I am resorting to the radio for news… no images, just the facts.
So how will I spend the day? Pretty much the same as is normal for me. But I will remember to pray for the ones who lost families and friends etc. Maybe while I’m at it I should send a few up for the young people that may shortly be involved in a war. (What is it about the Brits that we feel we have to go to war Aug/Sept? Wait until the holidays are over then home before Christmas? Maybe I should look out my old kitbag on the way to Tipperary…)
My very favourite subject (Israel) will be on the next post so don’t go away…

I hope we arent wrong. I hope that if war is averted then we dont end up paying the consequences because we chose to sit round and do nothing. I also understand that doing something will cause one hell of a backlash that will also place a price on the heads of those that live in the countries who participated.

But, after watching a public debate on TV tonight I was given the distinct impression that war isnt supported by us Brits and here is why (I think). I dont think it has anything to do with Iraq either.

I think Iraq could be called Wollawolla land for all it matters. Instead, I think it is all about the Americans. Learned people are intent on not supporting America rather than destroying a psychopath in charge of weapons.

Yes indeed, to crack Iraq would be a hammer to a walnut but its the protest of not wanting Blair to curtail to Bush’s personal war that many Brits are displaying protest to such a war. Should anything happen in the meantime then I dont think we will see much sympathy put out to Saddam and it will be all guns to the sand pit, but this isnt going to happen.

Instead, it will be an offensive into Iraq which will be operated without public support and is destined to faulter when men and women die in the field of duty. Again, I still say that not going is the same as opening the door to another Sept 11th.

Me…personally. I Say lets go and get it done and then rebuild without the disease that is Saddam. Afterall, what good is he? I cant see the future and I cant speak about the corrupt funding of terrorism etc, that surrounds America.

I cant speak for Blair either and whether he would indeed shed Brit blood to keep that special relationship alive with America. I can say beer, pizza, sex and days off work. They are all good. oh yes, add some sun, bbq’s and whiskey…especially when it comes out of anothers drink cabinet.

I have to agree with the sentiments of White Rose on this one. Reading her, “say it and eventually do it” post, I was reminded of a former colleague who spoke and thought enough about suicide to end his state of depression. Although people around him were aware of his cries for help it did nothing to halt the desire this guy had to stand in front of a mirror and watch himself die. This is exactly what he did when he pulled a trigger into his head. To this day the only reason anyone can think that he did this was because he had thought so much about doing it that it became a reality to him. Damn shame!

I read with interest one of the sayings of this site by Marcus Aurelius. “As a man thinks so he doeth” is in the Old Testament somewhere so it is not new. Puzzled by this I did a simple test. The other day I thought that I would definitely do some exercise and then I spoke it out loud a few times just for good measure. Did I exercise? Nah. (But I may get around to it…) My conclusion is that maybe some time has to elapse and some serious thought gone in before I actually do the thing I thought of…

How about this?
I am thinking about going to war…
I am speaking about going to war…
(some time later)
I am going to war.

Get the people thinking about it for a length of time and see what happens!
(I am coming into lots of money :-) )

my comments: Does Bush think that all he needs to be re-elected is a “War on Terror?” Doesnt the Earth Summit mean anything to the Bush Administration? I thought America was all about the environment and advancing technology to preserve the environment? Im glad I didnt elect Bush into office, that way i cant be blamed for allowing this to happen.

more comments: September 11th. Its been a year since the terrorist attacks on the US/world. It only seems like several months since then. It is still very fresh in my mind (mostly because it was on the TV and news for so many months) and now its time to ‘celebrate’ the one year anniversary of 9/11. I am not looking forward to this mainly because I remember it like it was yesterday. And not to sound like the attacks were not a big deal, because they were (loss of life is horrible) but I was looking at some information about the Atomic bombings in Japan during WWII… around 200,000 people lost their lives due to that, and America was the one to do it. Sorry, I took that out of context, but those were lives, people died. humans killed humans.

Thats all i have time to post right now. carry on.
