It bothers me that George Bush isnt attending the World Summit 2002. With America being the worlds most powerful economy and also the largest polluter, I am slightly put off by his absence. But then he can do what he likes. Can’t he?

Why Bush will not attend summit (this gripped by s**t!!)

I hate conspiracy theories. I hate to think about why and what motivates and who is responsible. I also hate the fact that those who know that you know do everything to pretend that you know not and loop holes are created to disguise the fact that most people who know for real, think we are too dangerous to tell. Liars the lot of them, whoever they are. (get off the fence Hooligan :-)

So, in great JFK styleeeee, I have nothing new to tell you about anything and nor will any Hollywood film director and his special effects department. However, I shall endeavour to entertain you with these sad and sorry links. Your appreciation is felt by me and my fellow nuns. Yes, I am a Nun. Surprised? You should be! I’m lieing again, sorry Mum.

Mick Jackson, very bizzare chap indeed. Anyhooooo, on to other matters. I havent been up to much lately. I did play Rugby the other day after a spell of 10 years from the game and it damn well nearly killed me. It wasnt the fitness so much but the knocks and aches that still haunt me two days on.
So, in true self pity, I have anchored myself to the chair and surfed like I never surfed before. All I came up with was this:

Archive of hacked sites

Okay, I lie, I got others but I aint read them all yet. Where is White Rose I wonder?

Michael Jacksons Newest Thriller

People magazine reports that Jackson has a 6-month-old boy, whom he calls Prince Michael II. He reportedly introduced the baby to his magician friends Siegfried and Roy backstage at their Las Vegas show on July 30.

He had a very lonely childhood. His motivation in having children is partly because of that but mainly because he loves them.

My comment: what a weirdo.

Its coming up to that anniversary… no not the death of Princess Di, I
refer to Sept 11th.

The US has been a mighty presence for so long now and maybe we in the West
have got a little too used to it. In Europe we are used to them turning out
and solving our problems both big and small (Perejil) usually with their
elite weapons and for most of the time on target. In the US these days they
think nothing of using these weapons (or powers) in other peoples countries.

Im reminded from history that this is just what we Brits had to put up with
when we had an empire. Our empire was such that you still see our Union Jack
on other peoples flags. But were we appreciated? Most of the time I think
not. In fact those that gained independence from us were very happy indeed
that they kicked the Brits out. Our little empire cost us roughly 2300 war
cemeteries scattered over most of the globe. Our ancestors were quite keen
to further the power of the empire even to the most ultimate cost of their
lives. I imagine America will think it is blood worth shedding for freedom
and in that they have a point.

It is my view that the world will see a power shift from America to Europe.
In some way the twin towers downfall will allow for a global currency swap
from the Dollar to the Euro. But the process is not over yet… we have to
see what else will happen to America before this happens.

A British view on the twin towers incident? Poor things or its your own
fault? As I referred to earlier, empires are entities in flux. One thing I
do know, empires rise and fall usually from the inside out. Sept 11th? Just
another marker on the road towards a new empire in Europe. Their own fault?
I think its too close to the event to tell. Maybe 5 years from now we’ll see
it differently. Dont mess around with other peoples countries is my view
from “over here”. Been there, done that.

No post from White Rose today. Actually, I lie. She has posted but I am not on a computer to access my email. Anyway, until I can get her voice in text you will have to put up with my rambling once again.

I will leave this:

“No one is forced into war by ignorance, nor, if he thinks he will gain from it, is he kept out of it by fear.
The fact is that one side thinks the profits to be won outweigh the risks incurred, and the other side is ready to face danger rather than accept an immediate loss.”

- Thucydides

White Rose speaks again:

One of the most popular ways to control the people of Rome was to give them
“bread and circuses”. In other words as long as the people were occupied
with entertainment the business of politics could go on relatively worry
free.
I feel the UK is currently in the same position. We are all so involved with
our tv’s and pc’s that the really important things are overlooked. I dont
think anyone in the UK is wanting to be involved in any war in Iraq or
elsewhere. We divert ourselves from the unthinkable with all sorts of
pastimes.
There is a feeling of “whats the point” when it comes to the public voting
in elections no matter what they are for. I vote because as a woman my right
to vote was fought for by the suffragettes. But that is the only reason! It
is not because I believe in one party above another.
However, I still believe that one person has the power to change the world
for the better. History is littered with people who have just done that. But
are our current world-changers too busy being entertained

“Flash flooded by security flaws

Macromedia has warned that its Flash Player, a ubiquitous application for playing multimedia files, has a vulnerability that could allow attackers to run malicious code on Windows and Unix-based operating systems.
Separately, researchers discovered a flaw in the player that could allow an attacker to read files on a user’s local hard drive. The software flaws are serious because the Flash Player is so widespread. Macromedia estimates that more than 90 percent of PCs are capable of playing Flash content.
The file-execution vulnerability, discovered by EEye Digital Security, uses a modified header in a SWF movie file to create a buffer overrun in Flash Player. Macromedia noted that the malformed headers could only be created by hand-editing the file with a binary editing tool, and could not be created by the Flash authoring tool.
This flaw affects all versions of Flash Player on Windows and Unix-based platforms before 6,0,40,0, according to Macromedia. It does not require a browser, but can work through any application capable of reading embedded SWF files, including emails and instant messages, according to EEye.
The bug has been fixed in the latest software update, available on Macromedia’s Web site.
In a separate notification issued last week, Holland-based programmer Jelmer Kuperus warned that a flaw in the XML functionality of Flash Player 6, and possibly other versions, could allow an attacker to read files on a user’s hard drive. The flaw allows an attacker to use several techniques to trick a browser into displaying local files, according to Kuperus.
This bug has been fixed in Flash Player versions 6,0,47,0 and newer. The latest versions of Flash players for all platforms are available on Macromedia’s player download page.”
